As expected, Vivo has officially unveiled its new S1 Pro in Nepal. The ‘Pro’ variant brings alongside some important addition and changes as well as marks the end of Vivo’s successful year. Successful in the sense that the company is aggressively expanding its ever-growing smartphone lineup with periodic launches, including the recent Y19.
Now to talk about the S1 Pro, it’s somewhat of a premium mid-ranger — Vivo is bold enough to come with its own slogan for this phone, Upgrade Your Lifestyle. While we are still unsure if it really delivers on that, the phone sure does boast some eye-catching hardware. More specifically, to start with the camera. The Vivo S1 Pro has a quad-camera setup that nestles on a diamond-shaped frame: a 48MP, f/1.8 wide camera + an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture + a 2MP, f/2.4 dedicated macro lens and finally a 2MP, f/2.4 depth sensor. The video capturing capability, though, remains at 1080p @ 30fps.
The front carries a 32MP selfie camera, which the company claims is industry-leading on its own, thanks to the clarity it offers. Rest assured, it’s an f/2.0 lens with 0.8µm of pixel size that can capture videos at 1080p. Also, talking about the front, it sports a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution.
Underneath, the phone rocks a Snapdragon 665 chipset with octa-core CPU and Adreno 610 GPU. The memory configuration of the phone includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ample onboard storage with an option for expansion via microSD card.
