The 26th edition of CAN Info-Tech will kickstart from tomorrow till the 19th of February in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. And officials have confirmed the completion of all its preparation with robots and drones to be used for the inauguration.
The event will see a total of 174 stalls, whilst the key highlight is said to be the innovation exposure, i.e. persons and institutes; as startups and innovations will exhibit their product and ideas. CAN has also declared facilities to startups and innovations and prize to the best one on National ICT Day.
The CAN Info-Tech looks forward to encouraging innovations and ideas thereby develop skills and provide a platform to IT and Engineering students of Nepal to help convert their ideas and innovations into the business. To further amend that, this year’s CAN Info-Tech will provide a special pavilion for startup ideas and project competitions, junior innovator exhibition, robot wars, push bot, drone dancing, robot race, etc. And winners will be awarded prizes.
What’s more? There will be gaming zones as well. The event will host several e-sport championship competitions with games including DOTA 2, CS GO, etc. There will be knockouts, while the top 8 teams will get to participate in the Info-Tech competition and the winner will be awarded NPR 1 lakh cash prize.
You need to pay Rs. 100 as an entry fee to witness the event, whereas students will get a 50% discount. Also, students belonging to public and government schools/colleges, journalists, senior citizens, and especially able will get to enter the event premises for free. The event ticket is paperless viz. you can buy the ticket via Prabhu Pay or use the Kiosk machine in the premises itself for the ticket.
The event will have international mobile brands showcasing their products as well as selling them with special discounts. Other products include Operating Systems, Networking Solution, Mobile Phone and Solution, Electrical and Electronics, Security Solution, Solar Power System, Inverter, UPS, Laptop and Desktop Computer, Printer, Power System, Computer Accessories, Antivirus, Banking Solution, CCTV, Memory Drives, etc. Similarly, software related to IT colleges, insurance and accounting, self-learning, and tutorials will also be exhibited.
Furthermore, Prabhu Pay, WorldLink, Vianet, Ncell are coming up with attractive offers. Smart Cell is providing its SIM card worth Rs. 99 with Rs. 90 recharged alongside 200MB data and 10 SMS for free.
The CAN Info-Tech, this year, is being organized to spread awareness on information and technology as well as help the necessities of related entrepreneurs in Nepal. CAN Info-Tech member organizations along with different national and international information technology and communication companies have shown their active participation in the event. Therefore, branding, game parlor, product launching, robotics, e-waste management, meeting hall, WiFi and Internet and Employment centers are the key departments to look out for.
Apart from the Kathmandu valley, the CAN Info-Tech 2020 is being organized in other 8 regions of Nepal of which the event in Itahari, Birgunj, Chitwan, and Butwal have already ended. While it will happen from Falgun 11 up to 15 in Pokhara, Falgun 20-24 in Nepalgunj, Falgun 28-Chaitra 1 in Dhangadhi, and Chaitra 5-9 in Surkhet.
