Moreover, even if you are not familiar with digital technology or don’t use a smartphone at all, you can reach out to your nearest Khalti Pasal and proceed with the payment.
More on the service, Sachin Udas, Khalti’s Merchant Acquisition Head says, “Since its inception, Khalti has been continuously working to simplify people’s lives through digital payment technology. We are excited to expand water bill payment services to all seven provinces of Nepal. Currently, we have enabled online payment for water bills at altogether 113 water supply committees in 38 districts. Our goal is to extend the convenience of paying bills digitally at all drinking water distribution committees and consumer groups across the nation in 77 districts. We will work tirelessly until we reach this goal.”
As for the ongoing digital payment trend in recent times in Nepal, the latest Nepal Telecommunications Authority MIS reports that 72% Nepalese have access to the fast speed broadband internet. Similarly, the 3G and 4G connectivity gradually ranges to a number of villages with a rise in the digital banking trend on the other side. Nepal Rastra Bank released statistics showing that almost 1 crore Nepalese now have activated the mobile banking service in Nepal and nearly 10 lakh people have access to internet banking.
With all these into consideration, Khalti believes that its latest service expansion grips an abundant connotation.
