Smartphones’ camera these days is all about the high megapixel count, and it definitely is attracting more consumers. This is why even mid-range phones now pack a 64MP sensor, and MediaTek certainly wants that piece of the pie. And to do so the company today launched its new Helio P95 chipset with an improved AI and camera but similar CPU, GPU, and other specs.
Besides supporting a 64MP camera, the chipset also brings more AI features including 5-person human pose tracking, full-body avatar AR, multiple objects and scene optimization and recognition, and 3D pose tracking, given smartphone manufacturers want to put this features in their device. As per MediaTek, the new chipset’s ETHZ benchmark score for AI in smartphones should be 10% higher over its Helio P90 SoC.
MediaTek is yet to say when a smartphone with Helio P95 chipset will hit the market but since it shares similar DNA with its P90 chipset it shouldn’t take long.
