The Redmi 8A has finally got its upgrade today in the form of the Redmi 8A Dual. As the name suggests, the Redmi 8A Dual comes with a dual-camera setup which was missing from its counterpart.
The back has a dual-camera of 13MP main sensor with a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the phone gets an 8MP sensor at the front with Portrait mode.
Alongside a change in the camera, the back of the Redmi 8A Dual also gets Aura XGrip Design to provide a better grip while handling. There’s also P2i coating that helps the phone against occasional water splash. At the front, the Redmi 8A Dual has a 6.22-inch HD LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Underneath, the phone runs on Snapdragon 439 SoC with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with a dedicated microSD card slot for expansion up to 512GB.
Powering this budget phone is a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through the Type-C port. However, you’ll only get a standard 10W charger out of the box, while the former one is sold separately. But, on the contrary, there’s reverse charging support which helps you use it as a powerbank at your convenience.
There’s no fingerprint scanner, but you get FaceAI Unlock, Wireless FM Radio, and VoWiFi support.
As for the pricing, the Redmi 8A Dual is priced at INR 6,499 for the base variant of 2GB/32GB, while for one extra gig of RAM the phone will cost INR 500 more.
The phone will go on sale through the company’s official website, Amazon as well as various offline stores starting from February 18.
