Huawei Consumer Business Group today, has launched a new addition to the Huawei ‘Y’ series phones — Huawei Y7p. A punch-hole FullView display, rear triple-camera setup, EMUI 9.1 on top of the company’s own Kirin 710F, and the pre-installed AppGallery with Huawei Mobile Services are what we are looking at. Launching at an entry-mid level price tag, let’s now take a brief overlook of the device.
The new Huawei Y7p sports a FullView 6.39-inch HD+ display with 1560 x 720 resolution and an aspect ratio that numbers to 19.5:9. Similarly, at the top left corner is the industry’s smallest punch hole that measures 4.5mm wide.
Moving on to the optics — the crown jewel of this phone. It flaunts a triple-rear camera setup including a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.8 wide-aperture lens that acclaims frame-worthy moments in true, native high resolution; an 8MP ultrawide camera with 120-degree field of view for scenic landscape shots, group photos, and wide-angle video capture, and a 2MP depth assist camera that is said to be able to simulate realistic shallow depth-of-field effects, a necessity for spectacular portraits.
Similarly, the device is equipped with a fairly large 1/2-inch sensor for low light conditions. And with the night mode making a come back in the device, the phone also supports handheld shots stabilization for up to a 6-second exposure. It has an AI scene recognition that enables the rear cameras to recognize more than 500 scenes while applying a real-time custom environment. On the front of it is an 8MP selfie shooter embedded with AI algorithms.
As for the memory, the Y7p carries a 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage that is expandable up to 512GB using MicroSD card.
The back of Y7p is stratified on top of reflective strata thereby producing a glare effect with the mid-frame connecting the two sides to produce a streamlined unibody look for pleasing aesthetics. It comes in classic Midnight Black and Aurora Blue colors. Here, the Aurora Blue makes use of the blue and green gradients thus creating a contemporary look.
The device houses a 4,000mAh cell, which can be charged at 10W through micro-USB port.
