The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) is now issuing an electronic pass system, or so-called e-pass for vehicles including ambulances, morgue, as well as the ones used to carry across food items.
Prior to e-pass, the Government had been distributing a printed pass to such vehicles for operations. However, this led people to gather in a significant number, queuing for the pass at respective Government offices, clearly violating norms of the ongoing lockdown.
However, the Government has directed respective District Administration Offices outside the Kathmandu valley to issue the digital e-pass only in emergency needs and cases thus proven via evidence.
You can apply for an e-pass via the official website of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA). All you need to do is fill up a form based on the given instructions on the same page and include a valid reason.
