We had seen OnePlus, Huawei, and Xiaomi entering the Smart TV market, and now it’s Realme’s turn. The company has taken the wrap off its first-ever TV in two sizes — 32″ and 43″. Both TVs are bezel-less and have a Full-HD LED panel, supports Android TV, Dolby speakers, and a quad-core CPU for a starting price of INR12,999 only.
The Realme Smart TV sees a feature from its smartphones, it’s the Chroma Boost Function which improves brightness, color, contrast, purity, and clarity with up to 400 nits of brightness, quite impressive at this price range. The viewing angle is 178 degrees, again pretty impressive for such a low price.
For the processor, Realme and MediaTek in partnership have created a custom chipset for the TV with quad-core CPU: four Cortex A53 and Mali-470 MP3 GPU. The RAM sits at 1GB paired with 8GB of onboard storage.
Realme says that to provide an “immersive cinema experience”, the Realme Smart TV offers ultra-thin bezels at just 8.7mm for the 32-inch one. The TV gets two speakers — one as a full-range speaker, and the other as a tweeter. Both speakers come with 24W Dolby Audio, while it can be further enhanced with a 100W Realme Soundbar, though you have to purchase it separately.
Being an Android TV, which the company is really proud of, it brings Google Assistant, YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, LiveTV, Disney+, and more for online content consumption — you can download from Play Store which has over 5,000 apps.
There’s an in-built button on the remote for Google Assistant, and once activated you can ask questions, set reminders, and even use the TV hands-free. Furthermore, it also has Chromecast built-in so you don’t have to worry about casting your photos and videos from your phone on a bigger screen.
For the ports, it gets three HDMI port, two USB, one LAN port, and one tuner port. The TV supports 2.4GHz WiFi only, while there’s Bluetooth 5.0 support. Another feat for the Indian consumer is that the Realme TV will be totally made in India, thus cutting costs without compromising on features.
The 32-inch variant of the Realme TV starts at a price of INR12,999, while the 43-inch will cost INR21,999. The TV will be available on June 2 through its online store with free shipping.
