The uprising tension between the Government of Nepal and India over Lipulekh, Kalapani, and Limpiyadhura territories spreads out to the cyber world with hackers from both sides posting their messages on each other’s government websites.
On 21 May, an Indian hacker named Shamharoosh got through and vandalized Nepal National Library’s site (nnl.gov.np) posting “the beginning of the game” in green letters on the landing page.
Similarly, a group of hackers that goes by the name “Indian Cyber Troops” hacked the website of a botanical research center based in Banke and posted “Don’t mess with Indians.”
On the other hand, hackers from Nepal namely “Brahma” and “Satan” reciprocated posting public messages on Indian websites, majorly their media outlets such as ABP news.
These episodes only signify further damages on both sides. India and Nepal shall be open on the diplomatic level and solve the issue with no harm to each side.
