After unveiling the Android Go phone, the C2, Nokia is back with its new feature phone, the new Nokia 5310 (2020) in Nepal. This brings back all the nostalgic memory that most people had with the then famous Nokia 5330 Xpress Music — which dates back to 13 years.
The Nokia 5330 Xpress Music back then created a buzz among users partly due to its dedicated key for music control and immensely powerful speakers, which we now take granted for. The Nokia 5310 resurrects the same dedicated music buttons at the side as well as offers dual speakers for better music experience. It now also supports wireless FM and can shoot videos on the 3GP codec via a basic 0.3MP VGA camera at the back.
Not only that, but this one also borrows a similar bar design from its older sibling with a weight of 88.2 grams. The front has a 2.4-inch TFT screen that outputs 240 x 320 pixels of resolution.
Performance is not the first thing that comes to our mind when we see a feature phone, and the Nokia 5310 is no exception. It has a MediaTek MT6260A SoC backed up by 8MB of RAM and 16MB of storage. The barebone storage can be further expanded by a microSD card up to 32GB.
The phone boots on Nokia Series 30+ OS and comes with a 1,200mAh battery which should be enough for at least a week of usage, or 30 days of standby time according to Nokia. The phone supports Bluetooth 3.0 but has no WiFi or even 3G connectivity option, which brings backs us to the unreliable 2G internet speeds.
The Nokia 5310 (2020) price in Nepal is Rs. 5,499 and it can be purchased through numbers of retailers across Nepal.
