Nabil Bank has launched the “Nabil Digi Bank” on the occasion of its 36th anniversary through an online event. It’s a so-called full-fledged digital bank within a bank set up to provide banking services to the customers in their comfort — time, place, and device.
The Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank, Mr. Anil Keshary Shah on the launch stated, “Nabil Digi Bank is a reflection of the Bank’s commitment to its mission to provide complete financial solutions to Nepalese market, with a singular focus on customer needs and aspirations while creating the best in class customer experiences. The Bank started its Business Transformation process with a comprehensive digital strategy at the core. The Nabil Digi Bank looks forward to using digital solutions to touch the lives of all our customers.”
Nabil Bank has been implementing several strategic initiatives that include a strategic cooperation MoU with ICICI Bank (India) for the exchange of best banking practices and an MoU with Huawei Technologies to support the bank’s digital transformation.
Mr. Binaya Regmi, Chief of Nabil Digi Bank will be heading the new digital initiative which is set to become a permanent structure in the Bank’s Organogram. Mr. Shah added, “Nabil Digi Bank is the first step towards bringing about a digital revolution in the Nepalese financial sector. While digital initiatives such as mobile banking and internal banking have already been enriching millions of Nepalese at some level, the Digi Bank could break all barriers of conventional banking owing to the digital strategies and programs in close collaboration with customers, FinTechs, and other stakeholders thereby developing a digital ecosystem to deliver a superior banking experience, hence making Nabil Bank, a truly digital Bank.”
Mr. Regmi presented the charter of Nabil Digi Bank elaborating how Nabil Bank will empower and enrich the customer journey, hence enhance productivity and efficiency of Team Nabil.
Likewise, Mr. Deng Shuigen, CEO of Huawei Technologies Nepal congratulated Nabil Bank on its anniversary and believed Huawei will be able to assist in accelerating the Bank’s Digital Transformation through its global experience in the ICT industry.
The online event even witnessed the likes of Miss Nepal World 2018, Ms. Shrinkhala Khatiwada, and actor Mr. Anmol K.C., both congratulating Nabil Bank on the anniversary. They mentioned the need for banks to leverage digital technologies focusing on the needs of millennials and tech-friendly customers while educating others to benefit from the digital financial services. Also, both expressed their wishes for success of the Nabil Digi Bank initiative.
