Update, 23 July 2020 (6:31 PM NPT): Just a day after the official launch, the OnePlus Nord is now available for pre-orders in Nepal via Oliz Store for Rs. 53,999 for 8GB/128GB variant. The phone is available in Blue Marble and Gray Onyx color options.
Original, 22 July 2020 (9:30 PM NPT): OnePlus has announced the new OnePlus Nord with a 7nm Snapdragon 765G chipset, 48MP primary camera, 90Hz Fluid AMOLED panel, and the Warp Charge 30T tech. The display misses out on the HDR support but offers sRGB and P3 color gamut.
Talking about that display, the OnePlus Nord uses a 6.44-inch Fluid AMOLED screen with 1080 x 2400 resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Protecting the 90Hz panel is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Beneath is an in-display fingerprint sensor alongside a face unlock support for security.
The phone powers on a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB onboard storage, while boots on Android 10. The chipset comes with an ISP and an AI core for Nightscape algorithms.
At the glass back, the OnePlus Nord has a 48MP, f/1.75 primary camera with OIS, and EIS. The sensor can record 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p slow-motion videos at 240fps. Then there’s cine mode for 21:9 4K videos. You also get an 8MP ultrawide shooter with 119-degree FoV, a 2MP macro, and a 5MP depth sensor — no dedicated zoom lens though. However, you can make use of the main sensor to leverage cropping for up to 2x zoom.
Onto the front lies a dual camera setup — a 0.8µm 32MP IMX616 sensor and a 105-degree 8MP ultrawide sensor, which means you don’t really need a stick for selfies.
To keep the lights on we have a 4,115mAh battery. The company is incorporating Warp Charge 30T charger inside the box that can charge from 0 to 70% in half an hour via USB-C port. And with a 3.5mm headphone jack missing, you can use the port to connect headphones.
The company has not bothered a water resistance certification but claims that 300 engineers have put the phone through extreme drop and artificial sweat tests. It will be providing OS updates and security patches for the following two and three years respectively. OnePlus will be shipping two glass back variants — polished Blue Marble and Matte Gray Onyx aside six different cases.
