QuantumHack, reportedly the largest international digital hackathon in Nepal is all set to be organized from 28 to 29 August 2020 hosting around 240 participants from all around the globe who will come together to share ideas and build technologies that impact communities. It looks forward to allowing these innovators to collaborate and solve real-world problems in a relatively short time, also addressing the need of bringing industries and innovators together to collaborate for mutual benefit.
The QuantumHack is also said to be the very first attempt in Nepal to organize an international virtual hackathon allowing students to learn, think outside the box, push limits using technology, and compete at the convenience of their homes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

QuantumHack Themes
1. Disaster Management and Preparedness
With the COVID-19 crisis exposing major weaknesses in preparedness against sudden disasters and crisis causing needless deaths and destruction, proper preparation and management of such frequently occurring disasters are realized to be able to save lives and prevent extreme spending in containment and relief.
You are required to design a system that can predict an incoming disaster and help minimize casualties and damage during the disaster.
2. FinTech
With modern businesses realizing the importance of transition online to reach a greater customer base, hence sustain in the competitive markets, FinTech has been able to democratize financial services to a certain level and prevent fraud against unaware individuals and businesses. The expansion of FinTech as well as the integration of alternative technologies like blockchain and cryptocurrency are deemed to be essential to prevent scams and frauds.
You are required to design innovative financial technologies to replace or improve traditional payment (hand to hand) systems which can help prevent the transmission of germs or viruses.
3. Education
With the COVID-19 disrupting studies worldwide and a majority of universities shut down teaching and sessions, students have been facing uncertainties in their continuation of studies thereby mounting the psychological problems. In some underdeveloped countries, internet access is reported to be inaccessible in remote communities and hence the possibility of online studies is faint.
You are required to design technologies that can increase the efficiency in distance learning.
4. Health and Urban Population Management
With health services greatly challenged by the recent crisis, countries with some of the most advanced health services in the world have been stretched beyond their capacity and are unable to cope with increasing problems. Health is one of the most important areas that need major improvement if we are to prepare for a similar crisis in the future.
You are required to design technologies that will improve the current state of healthcare delivery and healthcare resource management which has been severely exposed by the pandemic crisis.
5. Entertainment
QuantumHack will allow participants to get creative in building entertainment applications like games and immersive technologies (AR, VR) applications.
You are required to design innovative entertainment technologies that are highly interactive and engaging.
6. Open
QuantumHack will allow participants to develop any technologies or software that can combat challenges in the community and the world.
You are required to design any problem-solving technologies according to your will.
