Update, 3 September 2020 (05:35 PM NPT): The Vivo Y20 will launch very soon in Nepal, reportedly anytime next week. The release date and price are not revealed yet. Though, it could expectedly cost anywhere between NPR 21,000 – 22,999 in Nepal.
Original, 27 August 2020 (08:58 PM NPT): On August 22, a popular Twitter handle @stufflistings posted consecutive tweets on the upcoming launch of Vivo Y20 and Y20i smartphones in India and the full specifications of each. Today, Vivo has launched both phones in India. Essentially, both the devices are the same except for the differences in RAM and color availability.
The Vivo Y20 and Vivo Y20i come with a 6.51-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with 700 x 1600 pixels resolution with a 20:9 aspect ratio. These two are built with glass on the front while plastic on the back, and frame.
At the helm lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset paired along with 4GB RAM in the Y20 and 3GB RAM in the Y20i and 64GB eMMC5.1 onboard storage in both, expandable up to 256GB via dedicated microSDXC slot. Similarly, both run on the Funtouch OS 10.5 atop Android 10.
Coming to the back both the devices share a triple-camera setup comprising a 13MP main, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors and a single 8MP selfie shooter at the front, housed in the waterdrop notch.
There’s also a 3.5mm audio jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and 5,000mAh cell with 18W fast charge support to keep the lights on.
The Vivo Y20 is available at INR 12,990 in Obsidian Black and Dawn White colors with sales kicking off starting 28 August. The Vivo Y20i is available at INR 11,490 in Nebula Blue and Dawn White colors with sales starting as of 3 September. The devices will be up for sales in Vivo India’s online store, e-commerce websites, and partner retail stores all across India.
