While smartphone innovations have nearly reached their peak, manufacturers are trying to bring something new every now and then. Out of all, one of the upcoming innovative approaches is expected to be under-display camera sensors. The technology is said to come fitted inside flagships next year, but we are still left in the dark about its progress. However, ZTE, one of the China’s largest smartphone manufacturers has claimed that the tech is not so far, and they’ll be launching the world’s first under-display camera smartphone pretty soon.
If things fall into place for the company, the ZTE Axon 20 5G could be the first phone to launch with an in-display selfie camera. According to Gizmochina, Ni Fei, ZTE’s President of Mobile Devices confirmed the development on Weibo. Although Fei’s information was pretty vague as he didn’t talk about the name or launch date of the smartphone, a famous Chinese leakster said that Fei could be citing to the ZTE Axon 20 5G.
The flagship smartphone is touted to use Visonox — a China-based company’s solution for its under-display camera technology. Visionox, a while back, reported that it had started the mass production of its in-display camera solution without any problems and will debut on the upcoming smartphone.
