Gionee has launched the new Gionee M12 in Nigeria in two different models. Basically, both M12 models are the same except for the fact that they carry different chipsets — one with MediaTek Helio P22 and the other with Helio A25 — which essentially are built on similar 12nm architecture but with different clocks.
Both the handsets are available in two memory configurations — 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB eMMC 5.1 onboard storage expandable via microSDXC.
As for other specs, the Gionee M12 comes with a 6.55-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
It has a quad-camera array at the back that includes 48MP wide, 5MP ultrawide, and two 2MP depth sensors while a single 16MP selfie shooter at the front.
For connectivity, it uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 with A2DP, GPS, USB Type-C 2.0, FM radio, and hence 3.5mm jack.
The M12 carries a 5,100mAh battery with 10W charging to keep lights on. It’s available in Magic Green and Dazzling Black colors.
The Gionee M12 is already up for sale in Nigeria across offline partner stores and online on Jumia at a price starting NGN 75,000 (~NPR 23,000) for the Helio P22 variant with 4GB/64GB memory config and NGN 69,400 ( ~NPR 21,300) for the Helio A25 variant and the same memory configuration.
Back in May 2020, Gionee released its K6 in China. However, we never really got to see the device in Nepal. And looking back at it, it’s difficult to predict if the new Gionee M12 will ever come to Nepal.
