After a tumultuous period, Micromax is back again in India with two new IN 1 lineup phones — the IN Note 1 and IN 1B. Both phones make an entry with MediaTek chipsets and affordable price tags, which the brand was once known for.
Both phones land at a time when the mid-range segment is heavily saturated in India with major Chinese brands, but Micromax is totally reliant on its new “Made For India” slogan, which should somewhat lure in some users given the recent exchange between China and India.
Micromax IN Note 1
The Micromax IN Note 1 is superior out of the two. This one has an Helio G85 chipset with 4GB of RAM. The front has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ panel, while the punch hole cutout at the top center gets a 16MP selfie camera.
About the camera, the back has four shooters out of which the main one is a 48MP sensor with 5MP ultrawide, whereas the remaining two are 2MP sensors for macro and depth — which is a good addition despite it being just for numbers.
Out of the box, you’ll have Android 10 without any custom skins or UI, this means it’s totally stock, which is good for most people. Micromax adds a Google Assistant button on the left side, while the right one has a power button and volume rocker. No fingerprint scanner at the sides but it’s at the back.
Powering the phone is an impressive 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging via Type-C port. It supports, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, and Dual 4G VoLTE.
The Micromax IN Note 1 will go on sale on November 24 via Flipkart for a starting price of INR 10,999 (~NPR 17,999) for the 64GB variant — for 128GB it will cost INR 12,999 (~NPR 20,999).
Micromax IN 1B
If the Note is not your cup of tea, in terms of pricing, Micromax has IN 1B, which runs on Helio G3 chipset with a 6.52-inch LCD screen. It’s an HD+ panel that has a waterdrop notch which hosts an 8MP front shooter.
The back brings two cameras — 13MP main unit and 2MP depth sensor, and right by the side is a fingerprint scanner just like its sibling.
Much like the IN Note 1, this one also runs on stock Android 10 and brings the Google Assistant button. The battery also sits at 5,000mAh capacity but charges a bit slow at 10W via the USB-C port.
The Micromax IN 1B is priced at INR 6,999 (~NPR 11,000) for the 2GB/32GB, whilst the 4GB/64GB costs INR 7,999 (~NPR 12,000). The phone will go on sale via Flipkart on November 27.
