After the pre-order, Vivo has taken the wrap off its new Vivo Y51 in Nepal. The phone debuts as Vivo’s first smartphone in Nepal in 2021, and it brings some decent specs, including a 5,000mAh battery to the table.
To start off, one of the main highlights of the Y51 is its triple-camera setup at the back. The main one here is a 48MP sensor with an f/1.2 lens and PDAF support. Then there’s an 8MP ultrawide shooter with an f/2.2 lens and 120-degree FoV, while the last one is a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. To back it up, Vivo has its own Night and Day photography mode.
Shifting the focus to the front, it has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with a teardrop notch which makes room for a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Thankfully, it has a Full HD+ resolution this time and a pretty reasonable 82.2% screen-to-body ratio.
Under the hood, we have Snapdragon 665 chipset with Adreno 610 GPU. The processor should fairly do its job, but don’t expect it to run heavy games. However, the 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage should make a good pair for your day to day multitasking and storage.

Powering the Vivo Y51 is an enormous 5,000mAh cell with 18W charging. We know there are other smartphones with a similar battery capacity but it’s something we still can’t get enough of. Charging is carried through a USB-C port.
Vivo has put a major emphasis on the Y51’s design, as has been the case lately. We can clearly see the glaring crystal finish at the back of the phone, and a fingerprint scanner on the side certainly helps with its looks as well. This one’s a head-turner for sure.
