Living with ICT is organizing the Startup and Idea Fest 2021 edition in all seven provinces across Nepal. Talking of which the organizers said, “Innovative projects from local startups and students working in the field of technology can participate in the competition.” It’s being organized as a pre-event of this year’s ICT Awards slated to be held in major cities of Nepal.
Mr. Muskan Prasai who is the event officer of Startup and Idea Fest 2021 has informed that the registration which has already started as of Chaitra 1 will continue up till Chaitra 25. Hence, startups, as well as innovative ideas, are encouraged to be registered for the event via the official website.
The 2-week event is scheduled to kick off from the first week of Baishakh in Biratnagar whilst conclude in the following week in Dhangadhi.
As for the event highlights, it looks forward to showcasing the best startup products. It is said to feature mentoring and business growth sessions for startups and also Hackathons. On the other hand, students from schools and colleges across the nation are encouraged to demonstrate their innovations.
Talking about Hackathon, the event committee has collaborated with Code for Change to make it a success. Meanwhile, collaborations have been made with the likes of Rashtriya Banijya Bank, Braindigit, and Technorio for the overall event.
The fest also promises a concessional loan facility of up to NPR 1 million to the best startup in each state. Chairman of the organizing committee, Mr. Razan Lamsal also stated about the seed fund totaling NPR 3 lakh to be provided to the best ideas. Lamsal added that the fest is being organized with the aim of promoting startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Nepal while the best of the state is said to be honored at the ICT Award 2021.
The organizers are expecting above 5,000 people to watch the program in each state at the ICT Startup and Idea Fest 2021.
