YouTube has an answer to TikTok’s growing popularity, YouTube Shorts — a platform for short videos, alike TikTok. The feature is now officially rolling out to users in the United States with a global rollout expected soon.
YouTube Shorts is still in the beta stage, thus not everyone will get to enjoy the update in their application. However, since YouTube has been working with the Shorts for the last 12 months, the stable version could be right around the corner.
If you take a look at the stats, Short’s beta stage gained over 3.5 billion views. In comparison, TikTok is getting around 1 billion monthly active users and is set to become the first video platform to do so in such a short time. Again, given that most people are more into short videos these days, we have no doubt that Shorts will amass such a massive user base in quick succession, once it launches globally.
