Xiaomi has announced the new Mi TV Stick, a smart, compact, and portable gadget that aims to transform any non-smart TV into a smart TV. It is powered by Android TV 9.0 and offers access to more than 5,000 apps and games via Google Play. It also supports Dolby and DTS audio compression technologies for a cinema-like audio experience.
The Mi TV Stick is slim and sleek while is compact and lightweight with weight and dimensions translating to 28.5g and 92.4 x 30.4mm respectively. It can be connected to any TV in less than 30 seconds allowing users to enjoy desired contents in Full HD resolution.
It uses a quad-core Cortex A53 chip coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, hence pledges smooth and flawless performance.
Mr. Sourabh Kothari, Country General Manager at Xiaomi Nepal says that the Mi TV Stick has been launched in Nepal mainly for “offering the Smart TV experience to consumers who are constantly looking for ways to consume OTT content.”
The Mi TV Stick runs on Android TV version 9.0 giving users access to a “world of content” as Xioami puts it as a “one-stop destination for streaming content online with access to popular OTT players such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Hungama Play, Zee5, Aha Entertainment, and more.”
You can also play games on the Google Play Store with above 5,000 applications available on the platform. The gadget itself ships with a Bluetooth remote with dedicated Netflix and Prime Video offering thousands of films and shows available with just one click.
Users can get the latest news, updates, and content, all with the help of its voice search that is powered by Google Assistant. They can also control other smart home devices using Google Assistant or use the built-in Chromecast to cast content from all their favorite apps across multiple devices including mobiles, tablets, and laptops.
The Mi TV Stick comes pre-loaded with Google’s Data Saver especially for Nepal allowing users to stream up to three times more content whilst keep track of data usage simultaneously.
