Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has been teasing about its new product, and today we get to see it — the new Redmi Note 8 2021. Yep, the same Redmi Note 8 which was a fan favorite back then but now it brings some changes inside.
As the name suggests, it’s the same Redmi Note 8 from 2019 but it brings some refreshes, most notably the Helio G85 chipset inside. The phone now ships with MIUI 12.5 which is based on Android 11 and has splash-resistant nano-coating. Besides that, nothing much has changed, except for the video capture resolution which sees a downgrade from 4K30 now to 1080p30.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 also gets on two storage variants, 64GB or 128GB of storage, both with 4GB Of RAM. The device is now limited to three color options only (prior to this it had five on the original): Moonlight White, Neptune Blue, and Space Black. Save for that, everything else is the same.
You still get a 6.3-inch LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5 on top, a quad-camera setup at the back with the 48MP main + 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP macro and depth sensors, a 13MP selfie camera, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The battery also remains the same at 4,000mAh capacity with 18W charging.
