RedmiBook Pro 15 and 14 launches with Ryzen processor

RedmiBook Pro with Ryzen processor has finally arrived three months after its Intel counterpart was released. The lineup essentially comprises a 14-inch and a 15.6-inch variant, both configured with AMD’s own Accelerated Processing Unit (APU).

Bigger out of the two, the RedmiBook Pro 15 has been configured either with Ryzen 5 5600H (6c/12t) or Ryzen 7 5800H (8c/16t), each 35W TDP parts that are based on Zen 3 core (Cezanne). The 7 and 8 CU integrated Radeon units, respectively, handle the graphics.

On the other hand, the Redmi Book Pro 14 resorts to Ryzen 5 5500U (6c/12t) and Ryzen 7 5700U (8c/16t), each 15W APUs based on Zen 2 core (Lucienne). Unlike H-series in the 15-inch model, the U-series APU has a single cooling fan.

As for the display, the elder sibling comes with a 15.6-inch screen with 3,200 x 2,000 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, DC dimming, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. And not to mention the 100% sRGB color gamut, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, and 300 nits peak brightness. The smaller one ships with a 60Hz screen with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution whilst other specs remain identical.

The bigger display aligns with the bigger battery, 70Whr cell with 100W fast charging. The smaller sibling has a 56Whr battery with 65W charging. However, it’s no strange, both are said to offer 14 hours of web browsing once fully charged.

Both laptops use CNC-machined aluminum chassis with two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, one HDMI port, and a headphone jack. It supports Wi-Fi 6 for connectivity as well. The power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner for additional security.

Now, irrespective of the size and the APU, this RedmiBook Pro series carries 16GB dual-channel DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD.

Both laptops are already listed on the official website of Xiaomi for sales in China with prices starting at CNY 4,300 (around NPR 78,499 in Nepal) and go up to CNY 5,300 (around NPR 96,799 in Nepal). Xiaomi is yet to speak regarding international availability.
