Apple’s new thinner and colorful iMac with its own M1 Silicon chip have hit the Nepali market. The new iMac while maintaining a thinner body takes us down the memory lane to the classic colorful all-in-one iMacs with its bold appearance.
The new iMac brings a 24-inch, 4.5K display alongside slimmed-down bezels on both top and sides to the table. Although it still has that hideous chin on the bottom, the rear is now flat instead of curved making it a perfect computer for small-sized space. Apple says that the volume of the new iMac has been reduced by over 50 percent which is quite impressive. The display also has Apple’s True Tone tech that automatically adjusts the screen temperature based on the environment.
Apple also said that the new iMac comes with a much-needed update to the camera and mics for a better video call experience. The camera sits at 1080p resolution and has a larger sensor.
The new iMac measures 11.5mm in thickness which does raise some eyebrows regarding its thermals but Apple says that it should stay quieter and cooler than previous models, courtesy of the M1 chip. Also, the chip now makes room for “two small fans” instead of the regular “buky thermal system” seen on previous generation iMac, Apple says.
Although Apple has been shying away from re-implementing MagSafe cables back to MacBooks, the new iMac somewhat has a similar feature in its magnetic power cable that attaches to the back. There’s no room for an ethernet cable given its thinness, but you can connect it to the power brick through the same power cable.
The entry-level model has two USB-C / Thunderbolt ports on the back, while the higher-end model gets two additional USB-C ports albeit without Thunderbolt support. Surprisingly, Apple has managed to put a headphone jack here.
Users purchasing the new iMac will be getting a new keyboard with a Touch ID button, mouse, and trackpad in similar colors to the iMac.
New iMac 24-inch Price in Nepal and Availability
The new 24-inch iMac with M1 chip is now available for pre-orders in Nepal via Oliz Store for a starting price of NPR 205,000 (8GB/256GB) and goes all the way up to NPR 265,000 for the 8GB/512GB variant.
Pre-orders have begun from today with shipping expected to start from June 28, 2021.
