Back on February 4, 2020, Nepal Telecommunications Authority scrapped CG Communications aka CG Telecom‘s limited mobility license. CG Telecom was held responsible for the same due to its inability to renew the license within the prescribed period. It was even denied the Unified License as it was said to be unable to expand service akin to limited mobility in eastern Nepal.
Following the denial, Chaudhary Group seemingly transferred its interest towards internet services, hence the Fiber Internet Service by the name CG NET. The data center is already in progress in Satungal, Kathmandu with reportedly above 25% of the job completed. Once done, it’ll serve all infrastructures that are required to operate the fiber internet service.
Coverage
For now, CG NET is available in only a few places of Lalitpur districts — Jawalakhel, Jhamshikhel, Bhanimandal, and Ekantakuna in its first phase. Customers, similarly, can visit CG Digital outlets located in different parts of Kathmandu valley — Minbhawan, Trade Tower (Thapathali), Nayabazar, Kirtipur, Kumaripati, and Jawalakhel for customer service as well as to experience the internet.
The company looks forward to expanding the services across all places inside Kathmandu valley within a year with other parts of Nepal getting the service soon.
Pricing and FUP
Regarding introductory offers, it has announced Business and Residential plans. The latter includes a 120 Mbps plan, the highest bandwidth ever released in Nepal starting at just NPR 999 for a monthly subscription. The other plans, i.e. 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months cost NPR 2,997, NPR 5,994, and NPR 11,988 respectively.
Bear in mind that the plans are subject to 13% VAT and have FUP applicable.

Now whichever plan you choose, the installation charge and the drop wire charge are absolutely free. In a 12-month plan, even the dual-band router is free, though you are obliged to pay the refundable deposit in any case, which is NPR 500.
