Samsung’s Galaxy A series gets a new 5G smartphone, in fact, the cheapest one from the company, the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G. Moreover, it has an LTE variant, as well which by surprise, is a completely different device.
Let’s take a look at what both devices have to offer.
Samsung Galaxy A22 5G
The Galaxy A22 5G has a 6.6-inch TFT panel with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
It runs on One UI Core 3.1 and is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset based on 7nm fabrication paired with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage expandable via microSDXC. There is a Mali-G57 MC2 to handle the graphics.
The device carries a triple camera setup at the back including an f/1.8 48MP wide, an f/2.2 5MP ultrawide, and an f/2.4 2MP depth sensor. At the front is a single f/2.0 8MP wide sensor for selfies.
Both the rear and front camera modules are capable of capturing 1080p videos at 30fps.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C 2.0, and a 3.5mm jack, while it incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Galaxy A22 5G comes with a non-removable Li-Po 5000mAh battery with 15W charging that keeps its lights on.
Available in Gray, White, Mint, and Violet colors, the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G could go for a price of €230 (around NPR 33,000 in Nepal) or more based on memory config with sales scheduled to commence in select regions as of July.
Samsung Galaxy A22 LTE
This one ships with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with 1600 x 720 pixels resolution, a similar 90Hz refresh rate as well as a 20:9 aspect ratio.
While running on the same OS, it resorts to an older chip — the MediaTek Helio G80 coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage. It even lacks an option for storage expansion.
Moving onto the cameras, the phone boasts a quad-camera setup at the back comprising an f/1.8 48MP wide, an f/2.2 8MP ultrawide, an f/2.4 2MP macro, and an f/2.4 2MP depth sensor whilst a single f/2.2 13MP wide sensor at the front housed inside a notch that looks totally different to how it looks in the sibling.
The Galaxy A22 LTE shares all other features with its 5G sibling including colors.
We have not heard anything about the price and availability of the Samsung Galaxy A22 LTE.
