The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to feature an in-display camera inside the folding screen making it the first Samsung phone to have it, but that’s according to previous rumors. New renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 now show a completely different approach with the phone having its selfie snapper inside the punch-hole much like the previous Galaxy Z Fold 2.
However, the rumors of the Fold 3 supporting S Pen seem true as the image suggests, though it could be a different S Pen if the picture is to be believed. The renders show the word “Fold Edition” printed onto it. We can also see a triple-camera setup at the back which looks more subtle than the Galaxy S21 Ultra, or even the Galaxy S21 and S21+. So it’s safe to assume that the triple-camera array won’t feature any periscope lens, making it similar to last year’s Fold 2 which had wide, ultrawide, and 2/3x telephoto.
The phone’s footprint looks a bit thinner than the previous model when folded, but we are not sure if the screen gap persists in the new model. Also, the next picture shows a glimpse of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 alongside the Fold 3, which almost confirms that the Flip 3 will be happening and Samsung will stick to the name.
The Flip 3 has that dual-tone design, a dual-camera setup, and a much bigger outer screen making it more usable; at least by the looks of it.
Samsung has not said anything about the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 but we expect both phones to launch at Samsung’s next Unpack event, which may happen in early August.
