Kia Nepal has announced its first-ever hybrid SUV in Nepal, the Kia Sorento Hybrid 2021 in two trims. Based on the TMED structure, the SUV features a parallel hybrid drivetrain, i.e., it leverages an electric motor and internal combustion engine simultaneously.

Overview
As mentioned earlier, the new Kia Sorento Hybrid 2021 edition makes use of a 44.2kW electromagnetic motor together with a 1.6L TGDi turbo petrol engine. During acceleration, it uses power-split transmission which means both the electric motor and the combustion engine get working. Basically, the former is able to gain speed up to 25kmph superseded by the latter moving ahead. On a full tank, the SUV is said to deliver a mileage of 1054km.
As for the build, it boasts an enormous size that looks aggressive from the front — it flaunts a wide-sweeping grille that smoothly blends with the basic LED lights.
It has bulky wheels made up of alloy, headlamps with dual-LED projection, panoramic sunroof, and cutting body lines. The wheelbase is also broad, 2810mm to be accurate.
Moving on, there is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with an easy-to-read panel. Next to the digital instrument cluster is where the live video of lanes gets projected courtesy of Blind View Monitor technology. It is activated when the turn signals are on.
On to the interior, Kia has used Nappa leather that is known for its soft feel plus premium look. Adding up the luxury are the ventilated electric seats along with heads-up displays and mood lamps.
Coming to the drive modes, the Kia Sorento Hybrid 2021 comes with normal, sport, eco, smart, mud, sand, and snow modes. For safety, there are smart cruise control, electronic stability control, lane-keeping, lane assist, surround-view monitor, and a total of 7 airbags.
