Original, September 15, 2021 [12:50 AM NPT]: Apple has finally pull-the-trigger on this year’s new high-end iPhone 13 model — the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. As you would expect every year, the new iPhone 13 Pro models bring a faster and powerful A15 Bionic chip, all-new improved cameras, and an improved screen with a 120Hz ProMotion high refresh rate panel that can output 1,000 nits of peak brightness.
The iPhone 13 Pro will go for a starting price of $999 (~NPR 170,000 in Nepal), whereas the iPhone 13 Pro Max will start at $1099 (~NPR 185,000 in Nepal) with pre-order happening this Friday and shipping beginning from September 24.
There’s no change at the front with both phones carrying over last year’s 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED panel but with slightly smaller notches that should make more room for the iOS status bar.
Apple, this year, has revamped all three-camera systems on both Pro models. Last year’s ultra-wide performance on the low-lighting conditions was not up to the mark, so Apple says that they have improved for better low-light photography; and the telephoto lens now has up to 3x zoom, which enables 6x optical zoom across all three lenses. All three cameras also get night mode, while there’s also support for macro mode through the phone ultra-wide lens for capturing photos at just 2cm.
Diving deeper on the software side of thing, Apple has put new photographic profiles, which acts like traditional camera filters combined with computational photography. And on the video front, like the vanilla iPhone 13 model, the 13 Pro and Pro Max will also get the cinematic focus. The phone also supports video capturing at 4K/30fps in ProRes, a superior video capturing format offering editors to maneuver footage with a greater degree of freedom after it has been shot.
At the helm is Apple’s new A15 Bionic chipset, which offers faster CPU and GPU performance than last year’s models, which is to be expected. The new chip should also make the machine learning tasks faster, as Apple says. Meanwhile, the battery life also gets a significant improvement with Apple claiming up to 1.5 hours longer life on 13 Pro than the 12 Pro, and 2.5 hours longer on the 13 Pro Max than last year’s 12 Pro Max on a single charge. Apple is also offering a new storage option of up to 1TB, the highest on any iPhones ever.
How much will the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max cost in Nepal?
The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max will inevitably hit the Nepali market sooner or later, and like every year you might want to know its price in Nepal. Although we have no concrete report on the pricing, we expect both the 13 Pro and Pro Max to maintain a premium value in this regard. Judging by the footprint, expect the 13 Pro to start at NPR 170,000 for the 128GB variant and the 13 Pro Max at NPR 185,000 for the base 128GB option in Nepal.
