Carl Pei’s Nothing, a company based in the UK has debuted its first-ever product after riding the hype wave. The ear (1) is a pair of true wireless earbuds that comes with some handy features like noise cancelation. wireless charging and water resistance.
The Nothing ear (1) bears an aesthetically pleasing look, thanks to its transparent design which is rare in this segment — both the charging case and earbuds are made up of clear plastic. This allows users to peek through the earbud’s internals.
Weighing in around 4.7g per earbud, the ear (1) has a 0.34cc chamber with a single 11.6mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 5.2 support with SBC, and AAC codecs. The earbuds also bring touch gestures as its function for controlling playback and ANC modes.
The earbuds work well with both iOS and Android devices, while an app is available for both to customize features like touch gestures, ANC, EQ, and to update the software.
The earbuds’ ANC offers two levels of noise cancelation alongside a transparency mode that allows you to hear the surroundings without taking off the earbuds. On the other hand, you can turn off the ANC as a whole to get better battery life.
About the battery, the ear (1) is said the offer 4 hours of continuous playback with ANC enable and up to 5.7 hours without the ANC. The charging case can be made to work for up to 34 hours of playback time in total. You can charge the case with a USB-C cable or wirelessly with a Qi-certified charger.
In terms of price, the Nothing ear (1) goes for INR 5,999 which is around NPR 10,000 in Nepal. It’ll be available in 45 countries including the US, UK, Europe, and India via Nothing’s website in limited supply from July 31.
