Umidigi, a fairly new entrant in the Nepali market has bolstered their lineup with the S2 Pro launch in Nepal. The smartphone will be distributed by Vividtec Impex Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal, while at the same time joins the race for the bezel-less display trend in Nepal. However, the fanciness won’t come cheap.
The phone has a 6-inch Full-HD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. And for those with clumsy hand, the device is splash resistant and is covered with the layer of Gorilla Glass 4. For the processing task, the phone gets its job done with the help of MediaTek Helio P25 chipset paired up with 6GB of LPDDR4X dual-channel RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
Optically it’s impressive to some extent. The S2 Pro has a dual-camera setup — the first one has a Sony IMX258 13MP sensor, while the second carries a 5MP camera. Both lenses are f/2.0 aperture and come with PDAF technology. The front shines an equally impressive 16MP camera for selfies. It is also used for the phone’s face unlock feature, whereas the rear houses a fingerprint scanner which ensures that there won’t be any scarce regarding the security options.
The meticulously built smartphone boasts an impressive 5,100mAh battery inside, whilst booting the phone will be Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Thankfully enough, the large battery can be charged quickly (Fast Charge) through the USB Type-C port.
There’s no doubt that the Umidigi S2 Pro is an excellently built smartphone but the real bummer here is its price tag. The phone is ridiculously priced at Rs. 54,900 in Nepal. That’s something really high for a phone with loads of superior competitors and non-flagship chipset. We were really hoping for an aggressive price tag from the company.
