It’s official, OnePlus has taken the wrap off their new flagship, OnePlus 5. The handset, as rumored, combines high-end specs and a great built, all for an unbelievable price. While the phone does bear some similarities with the iPhone 7 in terms of design, it definitely doesn’t compromise on other remaining aspects focusing on what matters the most.
OnePlus’ flagship mostly featured a commendable hardware in the past, while compromising other aspects, however, this time it’s not the case — the company has exceptionally upped their game in the camera department. There’s a 16MP(f/1.7) & 20MP(f/2.0) dual telephoto lens which cohesively works to capture your photos exceptionally by allowing you to zoom in more. There’s also a portrait mode, which creates a bokeh effect or a blurred background. The new Sony IMX398 sensor shall also increase the speed of autofocus by up to 40{36e0204d4787f73122fcb1e17fa2cf53ad675a621d12c60fa6f762fd2fe714bb}, whilst a larger aperture will help you capture bright images even in low light.
The phone won’t disappoint selfie fanatics either. It sports a 16MP camera at the front with f/2.0 aperture rate capable of recording videos at Full-HD.
The OnePlus 5 is also the thinnest flagship from the company yet, measuring just 7.25mm in thickness. The slimmer design, however, has slimmed the size of the battery too. It features a 3300mAh battery, a 100mAh less than the OnePlus 3T. But that’s not a big deal since the phone supports the company’s very own Dash Charging technology, claiming to provide you a full battery life in half hour.
If that’s not enough, the handset is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset, which means it shall offer more battery life than its predecessor. As for the memory, the OnePlus is accompanied by a whopping 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 dual-lane storage, meaning you can perform your task faster than ever. There’s also a 6GB RAM variant which comes with 64GB of onboard storage. It’s FAST AF!
The phone comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box on top of OxygenOS. OnePlus has applied loads of efforts on making the software as smooth as possible with various tweaks and refinements over the stock look of the software. There’s also a new reading mode for ebook readers, which basically eliminates blue light from the display.
Beside that flagship hardware, the phone comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED panel with DCI-P3 support, which is seen on iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S8. Connectivity option of the includes, 4G VoLTE support, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, USB Type-C for data exchanging, and of course, a headphone jack.
The 8GB/128GB variant of the phone will normally go on sale from 27th of June for $539, while the 6GB/64GB variant will cost your $479. However, as for Nepal, we expect the phone to arrive within next or two month, with a price tag of around 55-60,000 for 8GB/128GB variant.
