Ncell has successfully launched a new VOD service provider iflix in Nepal; thanks to the partnership between the telecom giant and Malaysian VOD provider iflix. The service will now go head to head against the likes of Nepal Telecom’s very own WOW Time, which was also launched a month ago for its users.
In case you are wondering, iflix bears resemblance to the very known Netflix, in fact, you can say that it’s the Asian version of Netflix. The VOD provider is currently providing its service in 23 countries including Nepal, while it has partnered with more than 150 studios for more movies and TV shows, though popular series like Game of Thrones, Flash, and Narcos were missing from the service. Currently, the app offers English, Hindi, Korean, and Japanese movies and TV shows; unfortunately, Nepali contents isn’t available, period.
Ncell users are assured to get some perks from the app, as normal users can view and download movies on iflix from 12 AM to 5 AM, whereas the company’s 4G users can use the app for free from 5 AM to 5 PM. Both users will be able to enjoy 3 months of free subscription, while after expiration users can dial *17137# and get a 1-hour package for Rs. 50.
