The race for all bezel-less phone is heating up between the companies, and it seems likely that Vivo could win it. The company recently released a teaser of the production version of its Apex concept phone which they showed up back in February 2018.
Apex Concept phone featured a pop-up front-facing camera; an edge-to-edge display which the company claimed as the world’s best screen-to-body-ratio; and an in-display fingerprint sensor which worked anywhere down the lower half of the display of the phone.
Thus, a big question is, will Vivo be able to produce the device with the features as shown in its Apex Concept phone? For that, we will have to wait until June 12, when the company will showcase the device in Shanghai.
Vivo teased its smartphone in an advertisement, what seems to be the production version of the Apex Concept phone, promoting the device as the official smartphone of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. While Vivo exactly hasn’t mentioned its name, certain rumors have pointed out it to be entitled as Vivo NEX.
You can see a big notch-free bezel-less display and a camera which pops up from the top-left part of the phone.
Similarly, it will be interesting to see the in-display fingerprint sensor in the phone and how it really performs as well as meet users’ usability and requirement.
Vivo seems to be playing smart and creative in the race where all the smartphone manufacturers are looking forward to obtaining a truly bezel-less display phone. A lot of companies are currently putting a notch on their devices in the same attempt. Companies like Lenovo had also teased its upcoming true all-display phone Z5.
