Vivo is aggressively expanding its Y-series portfolio with the new Vivo Y31. It’s a spinoff to the Vivo Y31 launched way back in 2015 which had a 4.7-inch display and a single rear camera. The 2021 edition of Vivo Y31, though, comes with modern specs that suit today’s mid-range market.
The Vivo Y31 (2021) has a Snapdragon 662 chipset inside with Android 11 and Funtouch OS 11 layered on top. It has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.
If you look at the front, the Y31 (2021) offers a pretty big 6.58-inch FullHD+ LCD panel that hides a 16MP selfie camera inside the notch up top. The back has a set of three cameras, just like the Y51 (2020) which was launched a day ago in Nepal. It sports a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro module which is able to take pictures from a 4 cm distance.
The phone also offers Ultra Stable Video with the help of Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), while Super Night Mode makes use of a multi-frame noise reduction algorithm to decrease noise in captured images.
Much like the Y51, the Vivo Y31 (2021) also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging as well as a support for reverse charging. It charges via the USB-C port and has a 3.5mm headphone jack for your convenience.
The Vivo Y31 (2021) is available in Racing Black and Ocean Blue color options. As for the price, it’s available for INR 16,490 in India, which is about NPR 26,400 in Nepal. The phone is already up for sale through online and retail stores.
