After several delays, Nepal Telecom has finally launched its IPTV service starting today called NTTV. It was most likely going to start from 13 April 2020, and the state-owned telecommunication service provider did complete all preparations, however, the service halted owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even if the service has launched, you can’t practically subscribe to the NTTV IPTV service alone. NTC, for now, has decided to bundle it up with its unlimited internet and telephone service — you must subscribe to either NT FTTH or telephone or both. However, if you decide to choose the NTTV + telephone, you will get the telephone service for absolutely free of cost.
Although the NT Fiber To The Home (FTTH) is available in 33 districts of Nepal, the new NTTV is expected to span across a few select areas both inside and outside of Kathmandu right now.
Similarly, you must buy a separate set-top box on top of FTTH per television for installation. And you can use a maximum of 3 televisions on a single fiber.
NTC’s NTTV IPTV comes in two different packages — Basic and Premium. If you haven’t used the NT FTTH before, you will have to pay a one-time charge for installation over the FTTH router, set-top box, and fiber drop.

Note: You can acclaim the FTTH router for free if you opt to subscribe to an annual internet connection package. Also, you can get the set-top box for NPR 1,130 less if you subscribe to a year of the premium TV package.
For old FTTH users, however, you must pay for the set-top box and the NTTV subscription only.

As already mentioned, the Nepal Telecom NTTV will reportedly be launched in limited regions both inside and outside of Kathmandu, although most regions could be inside the valley.
If available, you can reach out to the nearest Nepal Telecom office, fill-up the form if required, and submit it in order to subscribe to the IPTV service.
