Honor has announced the new Magic 3 smartphone series with three new entries — the Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro, and Magic 3 Pro+. While the three share a common display including the internals, the Magic 3 Pro+ has four camera units at the back together with a stunning new look.
The Magic 3 series is the first flagship line from Honor after its acquisition by Shenzen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd. on 17 November 2020. Now that the Honor smartphones are free from sanctions from the US government, it will incorporate all Google apps and services for the global market.
Here we will be talking about the Honor Magic3 lineup in detail followed by their prices and availability.
Starting off with the eldest in the line, the Honor Magic 3 Pro+ comes with a 6.67-inch OLED display with 2772 x 1344 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
Running on Magic UI 5 built on top of Android 11 including Google Play Services (for the global market), it is powered by a 5nm fabrication-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G chip paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. An Adreno 660 unit takes care of the graphics.
Moving on to the cameras, Magic 3 Pro+ flaunts a quad-camera setup at the back that includes an f/1.9 50MP IMX700 1/1.28″ sensor from Sony with omnidirectional PDAF and OIS; an f/3.5 64MP telephoto shooter with PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, and 10x hybrid zoom, an f/1.8 64MP monochrome unit, and finally an f/2.4 64MP ultrawide lens.
The front gets a dual-camera setup comprising an f/2.4 13MP ultrawide sensor along with a TOF 3D depth/biometrics sensor.
The rear module can capture up to 4K videos at 30/60fps and 1080p videos at 30/60fps while the front camera can capture up to 1080p videos at 1080p at 30fps.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0 with USB On-The-Go. Though you get stereo speakers, you will miss the 3.5mm jack.
Similarly, sensors used are an under-display optical fingerprint scanner, face ID, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and not to mention Ultra Wideband aka UWB support.
A 4,600mAh cell with 66W fast charging as well as 66W fast wireless charging keeps the lights on. It supports reverse wireless charging too.
Other notable features include IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, IMAX Enhanced video editing tools, and the Porsche design inspired by Huawei Mate 40.

Now, the vanilla Honor Magic 3 shares similarities with both its siblings except for the chip, rear camera module, and charging. Carrying a Snapdragon 888 5G processor, it has a 50MP wide sensor along with a 64MP monochrome and a 13MP ultrawide snapper at the back while a single 13MP ultrawide unit at the front.
It lacks wireless charging as well as reverse charging. And it ships with 8GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB onboard storage.
As for colors, it is available in four different colors — Golden Hour (Vegan Leather), Blue Hour (Vegan Leather), Black, and White.
