Daraz Online Shopping, the leading online marketplace in Nepal has announced a new initiative called Proudly Nepali to promote Nepali Brands. The initiative will begin on 27 May 2022 (13 Jestha 2079) with the goal to highlight, promote, and push Nepali brands that have been delivering top-quality goods and services in the market, past and present.
The Proudly Nepali initiative falls under Daraz’s core values and mission of uplifting communities through the power of commerce. Daraz’s global vision of focusing more on localizing in each of its operating regions got a boost back in February with the onboarding of a new Managing Director, Ms. Aanchal Kunwar. Proudly Nepali is a push towards the same vision. Daraz also assured us that the initiative is not just a one-time campaign but rather a long-term project that will continue throughout the year.
Meanwhile, Proudly Nepali seeks to assist local brands and sellers directly that are associated with Daraz in order to increase their online presence. This is believed to ease business in the modern era.
WIth earlier programs including Daraz Sahayatri and Daraz Sarathi recorded huge numbers helping more than 11,000 sellers to shift their businesses online, Daraz is hopeful to help Nepali brands increase their brand presence and visibility online whilst helping them take their businesses to new heights.
On the other hands, customers will get a chance to learn and find out more about homegrown Nepali brands that include the likes of Fuloo, Juas, CG Digital, Mantra, Goldstar, Yasuda, Virjeans, and more.
Daraz is also confident about changing customers’ perceptions of the local brands and products. It wants to encourage customers to support homegrown Nepali brands and consume their goods and products. Daraz shakes hands with FNCCI and SAEDF thereby forming a strategic ecosystem in order to spread the key message, i.e. ‘Promoting Nepali Brands’. Proudly Nepali is being promoted all across Nepal incorporating all marketing channels.
