After some leaks and rumors, Huawei’s new Y9 (2019) has made its way in the market. A predecessor to the Y9 (2018), the 2019 variant of the phone has rather quickly hit the international market.
The Huawei Y9 (2019) catch up with the ongoing trend of dual-cameras, both at the back and front. While the phone’s counterpart, the Nova 3i, came with some impressive numbers, the Y9 has rather low 16MP + 2MP camera at the back and a 13MP + 2MP camera at the front for selfies. Despite that, it’s still impressive to some extent. The extra 2MP camera at either side is used to capture depth data for those portrait shots.
With a display measuring 6.5-inch the phone produces a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixel, which translates to an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. As opposed to its predecessor, the Y9 (2018) now is sandwiched between glass and a metal frame, which looks premium on paper. For processing task, the device sees a significant upgrade, thanks to the Kirin 710 chipset, also seen in the Nova 3i.
As for the memory, the phone’s got two variant: one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and the other with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both variants will have a convenience of a microSD card slot for further expansion. The whole phone will boot on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s custom EMUI 8.2 skin on top. The battery of the phone is a 4,000mAh one.
Huawei is yet to unveil its pricing as well as the date it will go on sale. For further updates stay tuned to us.
