Games that are created by Nepali developers are like a needle in a haystack, however, let’s dive into a deeper part of the topic and find out the top five Nepali games the Play Store or App Store has to offer.
Ludo’s a game that has been played by every Nepali at least once or more in their lifetime. Created by Nepali developer Jeevan Shrestha the Ludo Neo-Classic has huge followers with the download amassing 10 million users on Google Play Store. The game can be played with 4 players or a minimum of 2 players or with an AI. Every player has different color pieces in the game that they can choose from i.e. red, green, yellow, and blue.
The rules are simple, players just have to roll the dice and move there piece and make it to their home. Whoever makes it first is the winner. Moreover, they can also change the look from classic to modern. It is a highly enjoyable game and playing with friends and family makes it even better. Ludo Neo-Classic is available on Android as well as iOS.
Marriage Card Game
Marriage Card Game is one of the popular mini-games in Asia, including Nepal of course. The game’s exciting if you get used to it and can be played with friends and family through Bluetooth, the internet, or in single-player mode. Players can win coins and be at the top of the leaderboard and can enjoy unlimited gameplay even if they don’t have enough coins. However, the developer, Sapan Aryal, proclaims that the application is still in development and there may be some bugs. But despite that, it is still an enjoyable game to play. It is available for Android.
BaghChal is another typical Nepali board game that is available in mobile devices with the same level of fun. Alongside a nostalgia, it’s a strategic game where there can only be two players where one plays as a hunter (Tiger) and other play as prey (Goat). Here, the hunters will be able to control 4 tigers and prey will be able to control 20 goats. The purpose is either to eat all 20 goats or trap all 4 tigers depending upon the side that the players have chosen. It can be played with another player or with an AI. It is available for Android only.
Nepali Babu Adventures
Despite primitive graphics, Nepali Babu Adventures is quite fun. The game takes in an adventure with obstacles that the player has to face while they progress further in the game. Whilst progressing forward the player has to collect coins too. This game gives players a sense of feeling of playing Mario, though a bit buggy. It is available on Android.
Developed by Sroth Code Games, Goatventure is a fun-to-play game where players have to play as a goat (Jhike Khasi) who escaped from goons to avoid being eaten. To avoid getting eaten players as a goat needs to run as far as possible in order to survive. With similar gameplay to the Nepali Babu Adventures, players have to collect coins in order to unlock various abilities. Despite the resemblance, throughout the time finding different abilities players will have a hell of an adventure and might find it arbitrary sometimes. The game is available on Android only.
