Samsung has brought a new SoC namely Exynos 7904, which, according to the company is a mid-range chip designed for markets like India.
So, it’s clear that Samsung is looking forward to staying in a good competition, mainly with Chinese brands, which offer decent specifications in their smartphones in aggressive pricing.
Samsung also stated that the new Exynos 7904 SoC will offer high-end features in affordable pricing.
This chip offers an octa-core CPU — two big Cortex-A73 cores with 1.8GHz clock speed and six smaller Cortex-A53 cores with 1.6GHz clock speed. It’s built upon 14nm technology. Similarly, the LTE modem in it supports Cat. 12 or up to 600Mbps download speeds.
On camera support, its ISP can handle single-camera module of up to 32MP or triple-camera setup sided with high-end features.
The SoC also comes with 1080p video capturing support at 120fps or 4K at 30fps.
With this new chip, Samsung is promising great multimedia performance, smooth multitasking, brisk browsing, and fast mobile connection for not a lot of price tag.
Let’s see how much time does the company take to come up with a device carrying Exynos 7904 as the chip is already up for mass production and is expected to make its debut in Samsung’s new M-series devices.
