The recently launched Huawei Y7 Pro 2019, which has been my daily driver for quite a few weeks now and I have had quite a lot of people asking me how is it and at the asking price, does it really justify the tag? Which made me write it out once and for all.
First and foremost, what you need to understand is that the Huawei Y7 Pro might not be for everyone as the expectations and the use case scenario varies from person to person. However, I can certainly say that it is the most competitive smartphone with unbeatable specs at the price of NRs. 18,490. With that said, here’s why the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 got me swayed.
The Design
The Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 looks modern, thanks to that 6.26” IPS LCD display with the dewdrop notch and the color variants that Huawei offers for this one. By no means, it looks inexpensive and the device has a little bit of heft to it, which makes it feel significantly pricier than what it’s priced at. In my case, the Coral Red unit, which for some of you might find Girly and all, is gorgeous and so flashy that there is no chance that you don’t turn heads of people towards you. Huawei has really got this aspect right.
The Battery
With 4,000mAh battery powering it up, the device lasts an eternity. Considering the 720p display and the low powered internals, good battery life was expected out of it but it turned out better than expected. I normally used to get two days of usage out of a single charge and I am a heavy user myself.
For most people, even in this day and age, battery life happens to be the deal breaker which brings me to my point that it best suits your requirement for the heavy battery usage.
The Camera
Huawei has been literally slaying it in the camera department and has been raising the stakes for the DXO marks with their flagships. But Huawei has nailed it with the budget ones like the Y7 Pro 2019 as well. With AI and manual controls backing up the 13+2MP dual cameras’ potential, more often than not the pictures out of this device has had people wonder that it might be expensive.
For anyone passionate about photography and want a device well within that sub 20k price range, this might be the best way to go Also, with the 13MP front camera, you get great selfies with automatic retouching.
All these features add it to the list of devices that might not tick a lot of boxes of the perfect smartphone but strangely enough doesn’t leave a lot to complain about either. This being solely for the significant number of eyes rolling on to the device, this covers the amazing aspects that you can get at that price range.
