After months of rumours and leaks, Huawei discloses its Nova 6 lineup today. This includes the Nova 6, Nova 6 5G, and the mid-ranger Nova 6SE. Out of three, the main highlight is non-other than the Nova 5G with 5G connectivity support and a punch-hole display that holds dual selfie camera. On the other hand, the Nova 6SE is a mid-range offering, which, despite one less selfie camera, offers Kirin 810 chipset and quad-camera setup.
Let’s see a quick overview of all the three devices.
Huawei Nova 6/6 5G
Both the Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G sport a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. The display comprises an oval punch hole at the top left corner housing a dual-camera set-up: 32MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide secondary one with a 105-degree field of view. With more number of selfie sensors, Huawei claims that the phone ranks number one in DxOMark score, topping Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G.
As for the camera at the back, both devices carry a triple-camera set-up, i.e. a 40MP RYYB main sensor, an 8MP 3x telephoto sensor with OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor.
On the right side of the phone is a fingerprint sensor which doubles as a power button.
Both handsets get powered up by the powerful Kirin 990 SoC. The 5G variant, however, gets the Balong 5000 5G modem. Similarly, these phones carry 8GB of RAM while the storage is available in two different variants — 128GB and 256GB.
The Nova 6/6 5G runs on Android 10 with EMUI 10 skin on top out of the box.
As far as the battery is concerned, the Nova 6 carries a 4,100mAh battery while the 5G variant sport a 4,200mAh battery. And both the phones support 40W Huawei SuperCharge.
About pricing, the price of Nova 6 starts at CNY 3,199 ($454). The price of the 5G version starts at CNY 3,799 ($540) for 8GB/128GB variant and CNY 4,199 ($595) for 8GB/256GB variant.
The pre-orders have started while the official sales start on December 12, 2019, in China.
Huawei Nova 6SE
The Huawei Nova 6SE is a mid-ranger sporting a 6.4-inch FHD+ LCD display. The display consists of a punch-hole cutout housing a 16MP selfie shooter.
Alike the other two members of the Nova 6 lineup, the Nova 6SE also has a fingerprint sensor/power button placed on its right side.
As for the optics, unlike the two offerings, the Nova 6SE carries a quad-camera set-up on the rear side including a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter.
Similarly, the difference can also be seen in terms of processing power with Kirin 810 SoC at the helm paired with an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It carries a 4,200mAh battery to support your usage and comes with 40W Huawei SuperCharge support.
The Nova 6SE comes with a starting price of CNY 2,199 ($315). The pre-order starts today while the official sales start on December 12.
