Xiaomi’s gaming sub-brand Black Shark is officially headed to Nepal as a Daraz Exclusive as they launch the Black Shark 3. Ola Electronics, who is solely responsible for the distribution has launched the gaming handset as a part of Daraz Dashain Dhamaka.
Although the international market got two variants of Black Shark 3 — the Pro and the vanilla, Nepali consumers will have to suffice their need with the latter. It has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate — no 120Hz but still should do the job. The vanilla version misses out on the shoulder trigger that the Pro variant has, but aside from that it almost has the same hardware.
Powering the gaming need is a Snapdragon 865 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Gaming intensely on the Black Shark 3 won’t be an issue as it comes with double heat pipes as opposed to its predecessors. What’s more different from the previous generation is that the phone comes with a 3.5mm audio jack — handy for low-latency wired audio.
Inside, the phone brings a 4,720mAh battery with a swashbuckling 65W wired charging. Xiaomi says the fast charger can charge the device from 0-100% in just 38 minutes, which is just insane. Again, if you are in the middle of a gaming session and want no tangling cable, you can clip a magnetic charger at the phone’s back and fill up the juice, albeit in 18W.
Gaming phones are never meant to be a camera powerhouse, and judging by its track record, you shouldn’t buy this phone for its camera. Nevertheless, the phone comes with a 64MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP ultrawide snapper, and lastly a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, you have a 20MP sensor at the front.
