Ending various rumors Samsung has officially launched the next iteration of its Galaxy A series – A8 (2016). The new A8(2016) is fully made up of metal similar to last years A8 model.
While the display size(5.7-inch) and resolution of the new A8(2016) remain to be intact to last years model, the new phone now features Samsung’s “Always On” display found on the new Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7. The main changes are to be seen inside as the new A8(2016) is powered by Exynos 7420 octa-core chipset, which is found on Samsung’s last year flagship model – Galaxy S6. Alongside the chipset, the phone is coupled up with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, making it a significant upgrade from last year model. Combined with a powerful chipset and ample memory, the new A8(2016) will surely handle the demanding task with ease.
Camera wise the phone boasts similar 16MP(unspecified sensor) camera at the back with LED flash. As reported the 16MP camera is similar to last years A8’s camera. However, the front camera sees the changes – now featuring an upgraded 8MP sensor compared to last years 5MP.
Other noticeable change includes a fingerprint scanner lodged into the home button. The whole phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and will be running the Grace UX found on the Galaxy Note 7. The phone will drag the power from an upgraded 3,300mAh battery packed inside.
As stated the pre-order will start from tomorrow, however, there’s no word of availability about the smartphone outside Korea.
