The wait is finally over, Coolpad has officially entered in Nepali market. Jaima Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd, who are also responsible for distributing OTTO smartphones in Nepal has officially debuted the four new Coolpad smartphones in Nepal, including Cool1, Note 3S, Mega 2.5D and Mega 3. The phones were officially released at a dedicated event held in Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu, Nepal.
The event was gracefully conducted with the main presence of Coolpad Global CEO James Du, and Chairman of Jaima Intercontinental Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha.
Coolpad Cool1
Being a flagship of the company, the Coolpad Cool1 packs comparatively powerful and impressive specs. The smartphone, priced at Rs. 30,996 will go head to head against the likes of similarly priced smartphones from Samsung, Xiaomi, and Huawei. The handset features a 5.5-inch Full-HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. Underneath sits the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core processor. Memory option includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.
The Coolpad Cool1 comes with a 13MP dual camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. Alongside an excellent color reproduction, the dual camera of the phone also offers an in-depth field of view, which is a treat for point and shoot camera lovers. Below the camera, there’s a fingerprint scanner for security. There’s also an 8MP camera at the front with 80-degree wide angle lens. The whole phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs an impressive 4060mAh battery inside.
Coolpad Note 3S
Being the second phone from the list, the Coolpad Note 3S is priced at Rs. 20,996 in Nepal. Specs-wise, the phone boasts a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Inside, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 SoC and Adreno 405 GPU. The phone is backed up with 3 gigs of RAM, and 32 gigs of internal storage with an option for expansion via microSD card. The Note 3S features a 13MP camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture, while selfies are taken by a 5MP front camera. The handset highlights a fingerprint scanner at the back, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and a 2500mAh battery.
Coolpad Mega 2.5D
The Coolpad Mega 2.5D is priced at Rs. 16,496, making it the cheapest from the list. Despite carrying a cheap price tag, the Mega 2.5D comes with some appreciatable specs, with the main highlight being an appealing design and 2.5D curved display. The Coolpad Mega 2.5D runs on MediaTek MT6735 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. Camera option includes an 8MP sensor on either side. The handset comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and drags the power from a 2500mAh battery.
Coolpad Mega 3
Last but not the least, the Coolpad Mega 3 is priced at Rs. 17,496 in Nepal. The handset houses a 5.5-inch 720p display resulting in a pixel density of 269 ppi. Under the hood, the phone runs on MediaTek MT6737 chipset bearing a clock speed of 1.25GHz. Unlike other smartphones from the list, the Mega 3 comes with the least amount of RAM, i.e. 2GB, accompanied by a 16GB of onboard storage which is expandable up to 64GB.
Camera option includes an 8MP camera at the back and front, while the phone boots on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There’s a 3050mAh battery inside.
