The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro is finally up for sale in Nepal. While the former is available in 16GB RAM/512GB storage and 16GB RAM/1TB storage variants, the latter is available in an additional 32GB RAM/1TB memory config. Starting at NPR 3,05,000 the price goes up to NPR 5,30,000 depending on the same.

Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch
The new Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch comes with a 14.2-inch ProMotion Mini LED display, which Apple calls the ‘Liquid Retina Pro XDR’ with a 120Hz refresh rate. It reintroduces the HDMI port together with the SD card reader whilst including a MagSafe 3 charging connector. Of course, you can use the same old Thunderbolt ports via USB-C for charging.
Coming back to the front, the bezels are smaller now as compared to the old generation ones with an added notch housing a 1080p webcam. You will not get Face ID support though. The display has 3,024 x 1,964 pixels resolution and 1,600 nits peak brightness.
The 16GB/512GB variant has been configured with the M1 Pro chip with 8 CPU cores and 14 GPU cores. If we go up the memory ladder, the 16GB/1TB model has 10 CPU cores and 16 GPU cores. Now, both the variants ship with a 67W power adapter, not to mention a Thunderbolt 4 port. You also get a ‘high-fidelity’ speaker module along with a headphone jack, which is compatible with ‘high impedance headphones.’
The design revamp includes the function keys replacing the Touch Bar seen in 2016 models. Unlike the 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro, the new 14-inch model is able to drive two Pro Display XDRs.

Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch
The new 16-inch MacBook Pro brings in an upgrade both in terms of design and performance. The base model is powered by Apple’s M1 Pro chip with 10 CPU cores and 16 GPU cores. The highest memory variant though is powered by an M1 Max chip with 10 CPU cores and 32 GPU cores.
The build sees a revamp too with a 16.2-inch panel, 16.8mm thickness, and 2.13kg weight. Physical keys have replaced the Touch Bar. On the right side is an HDMI port together with an SDXC slot, a Thunderbolt 4 port. Similarly, the left side gets a headphone jack along with two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
The one with the M1 Pro chip can drive up to two Pro Display XDRs, while the one with the M1 Max chip can drive up to three plus a 4K TV.
The front sees a new 1080p camera that can handle twice the low-light performance as compared to the old models. There is a new six-speaker system supporting Spatial Audio.
The Liquid Retina XDR panel supports up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness. With an enclosure that is made up of aluminum, there is a new cooling system too that can move 50% more air with less fan speed in comparison to the old MacBook Pros.
As for the battery, the new 16-inch model delivers up to 21 hours of video playback. Well, there are MagSafe 3 and fast charging support for charging.
The Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch is available in Silver and Space Gray colors as well.
