As expected, Samsung has officially unveiled the new Galaxy A8 Star in Nepal. A new addition to Samsung’s A-series lineup, the Galaxy A8 Star comes with an impressive set of dual cameras and a slim new design that’s not mundane.
Talking about the front, the handset has a pretty big 6.3-inch Full HD Super AMOLED infinity display. The gorgeous and color accurate screen offers a trendy 18.5:9 aspect ratio, without a notch. The vibrant display also supports “Always On” function. Internally, the phone’s got a bit of surprise: Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, that’s expandable up to 512GB.
At the back is a pair of dual-camera: 24MP(f/1.7) + 16MP(f/1.7) with PDAF support and LED flash. The so-called dual intellicam adapts according to the lighting conditions and offers a great low-light photography experience. The phone’s also got an impressive 24MP f/2.0 lens at the front for selfie fanatics. Alongside great camera sensors, the Galaxy A8 Star also comes with an option to capture portrait images, thanks to the Live Focus mode present on the phone. This feature allows users to adjust depth-of-field or blur the background of images. There’s also other extra bits and pieces inside the camera software, mainly for selfies. A pro-lighting mode for a feel of a professional photo studio, a Smart Beauty mode for flawless photos, and of course, some AR stickers.
Powering the phone is a decent 3,700mAh battery, while it boots on Android 8.0 Oreo. There’s also a fingerprint scanner at the back and Samsung Knox for security purpose.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star can be purchased through retailers located across the nation for Rs. 59,990. Despite carrying a similar look to Samsung’s Note lineup(at the front) the phone comes in Midnight Black color option only.
