Samsung has even updated the S Pen and the Wacom layer for better 9ms latency. The experience is asserted to be as smooth as writing on a piece of paper. Users can convert notes to the Microsoft Office formats while the Samsung Notes provides seamless synchronization to further devices. They can even “Draw Shapes” in the air, go “Back”, open “Recent Apps”, and go “Home” and more.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is the first-ever mobile phone to use Gorilla Glass Victus to protect the display. It is said to be superior with scratch protection as well as drops with survival from up to 2 meters (6.5 ft) on a hard surface. The display even incorporates an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and a small punch hole at the top center housing a 10MP selfie shooter.
At the back, the phone boasts a 108MP primary sensor leveraging pixel binning to output 12MP photos. The sensor can record 8K videos at 24fps and cinematic ratio numbering to 21:9 while 1080p videos at 120fps. Furthermore, it gets optical stabilization but lacks Dual Pixel autofocus. And the Phase Detection autofocus gets the Laser AF with the 3D ToF sensor been cut down.
There’s also a periscope lens with 5x optical magnification and a following 12MP sensor, a longer zoom, and a brighter f/3.0 aperture combination to negate a shorter 1.0 µm pixels. The device offers a 50x space zoom. It also has a 120-degree ultrawide module keeping a 1.0 µm f/2.2 12MP sensor.
Samsung is shipping the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with Snapdragon 865+ (10% faster than SD 865) to the majority of the global market except Europe and India that will have to settle with the same old Exynos 990 chipset.
Samsung will be hosting Microsoft games on the xCloud offering the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and more than 100 Xbox titles as of mid-September.
The device gets a 4,500mAh cell with 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 9W reverse wireless charging. Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra, it doesn’t support 45W charging.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is priced starting at $1,300/€1,266/£1,180 for the 256GB storage variant, pricier than the Galaxy Note 10+ that would cost €1,100 and lesser than the S20 Ultra that would cost €1,345 for a 128GB variant, both at launch. By the way, users can always expand the storage using the microSD slot or the hybrid slot on the dual-SIM models.
The device will ship in three different colors — Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black, and Mystic White with shipment kicking off on 21 August in select markets. The market will even determine the availability of 4G and 5G mmWave models.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is a significant dip from the ‘Ultra’ variant carrying a 6.7-inch 1080p+ flat panel underneath the old Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Here’s why the Note 20 Ultra and the Note 20 naming actually makes sense.
- Display: 6.7-inches, Super AMOLED; 89.2% screen-to-body ratio; HDR10+; Gorilla Glass 5
- Resolution: 1440 x 2400 pixels; 20:9 aspect ratio; ~392ppi
- Chipset: Exynos 990; 7nm+
- CPU: Octa-core (2 × 2.73GHz Mongoose M5 & 2 × 2.60GHz Cortex-A76 & 4 × 2.0GHz Cortex-A55)
- GPU: Mali-G77 MP11
- RAM: 8GB LPDDR5
- Storage: 256GB (expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card)
- Software & UI: Android 10 with One UI 2.5 on top
- Rear Camera: Triple-camera; 12MP, f/1.8 primary shooter, OIS, DPAF + 64MP, f/2.0 telephoto lens, 3X hybrid optical zoom, PDAF + 12MP, f/2.2 ultra-wide
- Front Camera: 10MP, f/2.2 aperture
- Battery: 4,300mAh; 25W fast charging wired
- Samsung Galaxy S20 Price in Nepal (8/256GB): Rs. 1,09,999
Unlike the Ultra variant, the display gets a much lower 60Hz refresh rate. Hence, Samsung is clearly unable to supply a low latency upgrade to the S Pen.
The Note 20 does keep a slightly smaller 4,300mAh cell than the Ultra, however, a much bigger than the vanilla Note 10 carrying a 3,500mAh cell. And the cell will charge from 0% to 50% in a matter of half an hour leveraging the 25W charging out of the box. Also, the 4,300mAh cell will most probably do a decent job considering a 60Hz refresh rate screen.
As for the optics, the device boasts a significant upgrade from the S20/S20+ including a 1.8µm pixels 12MP primary sensor with Dual Pixel autofocus and OIS. On the other hand, the 1.0 µm 64MP sensor serves as a telephoto lens with a 3x lossless zoom and 30x space zoom, and an 8K video cam. Furthermore, the device has a native 12MP ultrawide sensor as well.
Again, Samsung will be shipping the Snapdragon 865+ powering the Galaxy Note 20 paired with 8GB RAM to the majority of the global market except Europe and India which will get the same old Exynos 990 chipset. Apart from the onboard 256GB storage, the device doesn’t offer a microSD storage expansion slot. Meanwhile, the Note 20 5G model comes with a 128GB onboard storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 4G is priced starting at €950/£850, while the 5G model starts from $1,000/€1,023/£950. Similarly, the vanilla model will be available in three colors — Mystic Bronze, Mystic Green, and Mystic Gray.
Finally, Samsung is offering benefits on pre-ordering the Note 20 lineup smartphones – the Galaxy Buds+ (not Live) and the Gaming bundle. You can acclaim the Galaxy Buds+ now while the Gaming bundle only later. The Gaming bundle comprises a wireless charger as well as a wireless game controller atop a complete 3 months Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
