Coolpad’s Cool series gets a new member today, it’s the Cool S. The launch comes after the company unveiled its Cool 6 smartphone a couple of months ago which had some impressive specs for its price. And to say the least, the trend continues here.
The Cool S brings a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a punch-hole at the upper left corner which makes room for a pretty impressive 25MP Sony IMX576 selfie camera.
Coolpad says that the back is made of double glass, which is yet another impressive feat given its price. The back, however, misses a fingerprint scanner (it’s on an unusual place at the left), but we get an array of impressive quad-camera. The main one here is a 48MP sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide unit, while the remaining include 5MP macro and 0.3MP depth modules.

Under the hood, the phone has Helio P60 SoC with a 5,000mAh battery that charges over a Type-C port, however, there’s no mention of any fast charging. The phone ships with Android 10 out of the box and brings 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card.
